The LawPreneur Behind MeetPreneur

Shahrina Ankhi-Krol
When she was only 13 years old, Shahrina Ankhi-Krol saw a flyer posted in the hall of her Queens middle school. The famed Whitney Museum of American Art in Manhattan was looking for teens her age to volunteer as tour guides.
“How cool!” she thought — and quickly signed up.
At the Whitney, the teen discovered her passion for painting, drawing, sculpture, and all forms of creativity. She enjoyed the art and the artists so much that she volunteered at the Metropolitan and MOMA in high school.
Little did she know then that when her career would veer into law, her love of art and the creative community would guide her to soon become one of New York’s Rising Star Super Lawyers five years in a row. That’s a recognition given to no more than 2.5% of attorneys in each state each year.
Of course, it never hurts to focus your path on your passions. Unlike many newly-minted lawyers who shaped their practices around what’s popular or lucrative, Ankhi-Krol had the wisdom to follow her heart early on. Her heart said art, fashion, pets, and helping other entrepreneurs follow — and legally protect — their dreams.
