Honoring Our Fallen Heroes with a Unique Flag
George Lutz, Sr. has created a flag that stands as a symbol for all of those who have fallen. The flag designed by him and his youngest son is presented to families who have lost loved ones in wars dating back to the Vietnam War.
Since launching the project on Memorial Day, 2008 his organization (www.honorandremember.org) has donated over 130 personalized flags.

Bernadette Allen
Ambassador to Niger
In 2005, Ms. Allen was nominated by President George Bush to serve as Ambassador to the Republic of Niger and was confirmed by the U.S. Senate in February 2006. She has served as Ambassador to Niger since that time.
Ms. Allen has used her natural ability to bond with people to affect positive change in many ways through her various professional roles as an FS officer. She has received the Superior Honor Award for Leadership as Consul General in Montreal and a Meritorious Honor Award for outstanding managerial and professional skills in Guangzhou, China.

Many of us either know a child or a parent whose child could become a run away. Maureen Blaha, Executive Director of the National Runaway Switchboard (NRS) and her team of volunteers have made a tremendous difference in the lives of thousands of parents and children who are facing issues dealing with runaway teens.
As Executive Director, Maureen’s objective is to work toward fulfilling the organization’s mission of keeping America’s runaway and at-risk youth safe and off the streets. She consistently works with the board to develop a multi-year strategic plan and to oversee and manage the successful implementation of that plan, from awareness and funding to volunteer support.

Thomas Jacob
Coping with Multiple Sclerosis - A Test of Inner Strength
As he uses his life experiences to inspire others, Thomas is now realizing the true power of his inner strength.
In 1991, he was diagnosed with an incurable disease, Multiple Sclerosis. His life changed emotionally, mentally and physically. After 15 years of living with MS, Thomas began to notice a gradual deterioration in his physical abilities. He no longer works. Though it took some time to accept, he has chosen to use his experience to teach others about patience and learning to make the best of life despite their circumstances. He may be limited in his ability to physically do certain things, but Thomas has not allowed those limitations to affect his ability to be an inspiration to others.
